Josh A Campbell (he, him, his) is an award-winning artist, facilitator and arts administrator who has worked for various organizations including Young Audiences New Jersey, Philadelphia Young Playwrights, Newark School of of Arts and McCarter Theater and Baltimore School for the Arts. As a teaching artist and facilitator, he has recently finished facilitating a 8 workshop sequence that explored the intersection of race equity, performing arts, and education with Dr. Yolanda Sealey Ruiz, as well as a workshop for teachers and administrators for New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association. As an playwright and poet, his work has been showcased at the Free Library of Philadelphia, the Painted Bride, and Simpatico Theater. His awards include: 2020 finalist for Many Voices Fellowship, 2016 finalist for the Many Voices Fellowship and Jerome Fellowship, and a 2015 BAU Institute Otranto Arts and Culture Fellow. He was the recipient of 2018 Curtain Call Award for Outstanding Contribution to Arts Education by the New Jersey Theatre Alliance. Currently he is a member of Jouska Playworks, an assembly of Black playwrights, all of whom are committed to creating theatre to enrich, entertain, empower, and awaken the moral conscience. He is a graduate of the University of the Arts, where he received the 2014 Excellence in Playwriting Award and is a proud alumni of the Baltimore School for the Arts, where he studied tuba.
